Steven Quantick is a new writer who is based in Cardiff. His ten minute play TRAFFIC achieved second place at the Sherman Theatre’s ScriptSlam competition in July 2010, and was subsequently adapted into a full length play for the company “Actorsworkshop” who performed it in May 2011 at Llanover Hall Arts Centre. A ten minute extract from TRAFFIC was selected from over 120 entries and performed as part of the Broadway Theatre’s “Script This” competition in Barking in May 2011.

Playgoers New Generation performed a one act play he had written entitled IN THE SPIRIT OF THINGS at the Dolman Theatre in Newport, also entering it into the Gwent Drama Festival in April 2012. Subsequently Playgoers New Generation commissioned Steven to write an adaptation of AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS for them, which was performed over three nights in March 2013 to favourable reviews. They also entered his one act play FOUR into the Gwent Drama Festival in 2014.

He graduated with Merit with a Masters Degree in Scriptwriting from Glamorgan University. During his Masters degree, he wrote a short film script entitled FLICKER for visual effects student Jay Murray. Subsequently he wrote and performed in an evening of horror monologues as part of Cardiff’s MADE IN ROATH festival, SUBURBAN HORROR. Currently he is writing for the upcoming web series LONG SHOTS and developing a portfolio of original work.

In 2014 he placed in the final 13 of the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting award with episode 1 of his original television drama, SPOILERS.

HELPER (A ghost story as part of GOING UP): A promenade play organised by the Drama Association of Wales featuring a ghost story written and performed by Steven.

AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS :Adaptation for Playgoers New Generation, performed in March 2013.

FLICKER :A short film written in collaboration with visual effects student Jay Murray.

SUBURBAN HORROR :An immersive theatre event featuring horror stories written by Steven.

FOUR: A one act play performed by Playgoers New Generation in 2014.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK: A Pantomime written for City Temple Church and performed in December 2014.
